BuntPlanet participates in COP25 – Madrid 2019

BuntPlanet - Ainhoa Lete - COP25

BuntPlanet was honoured to be invited to participate in the UN Climate Change conference, COP25, which took place between December 2 and 13, 2019.

The COP, or Conference of the Parties, is the supreme decision-making body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The twenty-fifth COP was organized and chaired by the Government of Chile, and took place in Madrid, with the support of the Spanish Government. During the COP, the 197 Parties to the treaty (196 States plus the European Union) take decisions relating to the implementation of the objectives of the UNFCCC – to boost action to combat climate change, and improve awareness by citizens of climate change issues.

BuntPlanet, represented by CEO Ainhoa Lete, participated in a round table on water management and its impact on climate change. The debate focused on the need for public-private collaboration in order to achieve innovation in water management. Participants included public sector administrators, alongside public and private sector companies involved in water management.

BuntPlanet also received an award during the COP25 Special Edition of the StartUp Europe Awards. StartUp Europe Awards is an initiative supported by the European Commission and organized by Finnova Foundation. BuntPlanet was delighted to win the award in the Water-Climate Change category. We would like to thank Finnova and the other organizers for the invitation to participate in COP25 – and for the award in recognition of our company’s achievements.

BuntPlanet’s technology, BuntBrain, is an innovative solution that applies Artificial Intelligence to reduce water losses in supply networks – helping to conserve our planet’s resources of fresh water. With climate change, the water cycle is expected to undergo significant change: BuntPlanet works with enthusiasm to help manage our precious water resources more efficiently.

Climate change is a reality today, not in 50 years. Now is the time to act!
